Simone, sorry to hear about your job. Every situation is different, so whatever I say in this circumstance may be out of place. Except “it’s only a job”. Keep going, keep writing, as you rightly said above, to discover what’s next: that’s the only way. I really enjoy reading you.
(P.S. Emma is also my daughter’s name. And my mom’s).
There’s excellent taste in the name Emma, isn’t there? Guess what? My cat is named Romeo and I call him Silvio. True story :) I appreciate your note. I will remember you fondly, always. Our conversation before you joined WOP was lovely. You’re flourishing. Thank you for being a reader. ❤️
Oh how I feel for you! Ans yes, you will persevere and grow and learn from all that has happened and build a better you! On to the next adventures. May the force be with you.
And as usual my side note: I’ve had the same air popper for oh geez has it been 20 years. Possibly more. It is the only way to make pop corn, and we consume a lot of popcorn. I love it with, a splash of avocado oil, a dash of salt and too much nutritional yeast. Enjoy!
Yo! I shot you an email last night as soon as I got the newsletter and came back to comment. Let me say my gob is still smacked and my flabber is still gasted. The next place you go will be lucky to have you--as was the last place and every place before and after. Holler if you want to get into a regular writing group again for some routine--or if you just want to chop it up sometime.
Yo! I don't think I saw your email so I'm glad you came back here to comment. I can't believe your gob is still smacked and your flabber is still gasted. Will it be this way forever? I will be in touch for sure. A writing group sounds lovely. More to come, for sure. I appreciate you and your note (and I'll go hunting for that email — I'm sure it's pure gold). ❤️
Hi Simone, I’m so sorry about your job. And, I want you to know how much I enjoy your newsletters. You often make me laugh out loud (which isn’t easy to do). I love your writing and am blessed to have found you.
oh simone, I am so sorry. I know how much you loved your job. a loss for them for sure.
tom petty is tops at our house too. have you ever seen his tribute to george harrison with prince and several others? really good. sending love your way and glad you can find comfort from your mom❤️
Friends, a note of clarification: it wasn’t my intention to make my previous employer sound non-integrous. They have integrity. I have integrity.
I need to learn to write better :)
I read it pretty closely and did not get the impression you were saying that at all.
Thank goodness!

I always appreciate your comments, Simone. Thoughtful, rambly, and perfectly you. ❤️
The ol’ air popper is so simple and so effective. I’m not surprised you’ve had it for 20 years.
*Virtual hug* I know that whatever's next for you, it's going to be amazing.
Thank you, Catalina. Miss seeing your face in the Zoom!
